The Brethren Of The Coast
Historical theater from the Golden Age Of Piracy

1625-1800

From the dawn of time, deep within the heart of humankind has burned the desire for high adventure. Born of this desire, from the dark and murky depths of the brine, arose a crew of cutthroats so feared it was said they sailed on the breath of Satan himself. They pillaged the seven seas defiantly flying the colors of "no mercy." Their reign of terror was beyond one's darkest nightmares. Be ye warned, The Brethren Of The Coast have risen once again and set sail.

We be a jolly crew of adventurous, fun-lovin' souls, out lookin' to relieve heavily laden ships and individuals of their burdens! Our activities include costume, dance, and swordmanship workshops, pirate movie marathons, tavern and beach parties, whale watches, sea battles complete with cannon fire, pirate balls and banquets, and Renaissance Faire encampments.

The Brethren of the Coast is a historical theatre guild dedicated to an accurate and colorful portrayal of Pirates during the Golden Age of Piracy.

Leading this swarthy band of cutthroats is the fearless Captain Jamie Bellows, who inspires fierce loyalty in his crew and strikes terror in the hearts of those who provoke his ire. Captain Jamie founded the Brethren in 1985, making the Brethren of the Coast the longest running pirate guild in Southern California. The Captain has been actively portraying a pirate for a number of years and has appeared in many films, such as Hook.
